Ingredients
  

For the Wings:

  • 1.5 lbs chicken wings
  • 1 packet 20g sinigang mix (tamarind-based)
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp fish sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp oil for air frying

For the Sinigang Glaze:

  • 1 tbsp butter
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 tbsp sinigang mix
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • ½ tsp chili flakes optional
  • 1 tsp cornstarch dissolved in 1 tbsp water

Instructions
 

  • Mix the sinigang mix, soy sauce, fish sauce, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika in a bowl.
  • Add the chicken wings and coat evenly. Cover and marinate in the fridge for at least 2 hours.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  • Pat the wings dry and toss them with cornstarch to enhance crispiness.
  • Lightly coat the wings with oil and arrange in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
  • Air fry for 18-20 minutes, flipping halfway through, until crispy and golden brown.
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and add water, sinigang mix, honey, soy sauce, and chili flakes. Simmer for 2 minutes.
  • Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook until the glaze thickens.
  • Toss the crispy wings in the sinigang glaze until evenly coated.
  • Serve hot with extra glaze on the side.

Notes

  • Storage: Store leftover wings in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the air fryer at 350°F for 5 minutes.
